Four Berries, One Backyard: Why Our Raspberries Are Different

Most people have never tasted a black raspberry. Here in Mount Morris, we grow them right in our own backyard, along with red raspberries, yellow raspberries, and gooseberries. Four berries, four completely different flavors, all growing a few steps from the oven.

    Black Raspberries

    Black Raspberries

Deeper, darker, and more wine-like than the raspberries you'll find at the grocery store. Black raspberries have a richness and complexity that's hard to describe until you've actually tasted one: earthy, tart, and a little bit wild.

    Red Raspberries

The classic. Bright, sweet-tart, and instantly familiar, the flavor most people picture when they hear "raspberry."

    Yellow Raspberries

Mellow, almost tropical, and less tart than their red or black cousins. A quieter flavor, but one that surprises people who've never tried one before.

    Gooseberries

Tart, snappy, and a little unexpected. Gooseberries bring the kind of sharp brightness that cuts through sweetness and wakes up whatever they're paired with.

    Mixed Berry Pie before baking

We're a wood-fired sourdough bakery first and foremost, but every once in a while these backyard berries find their way into something special. This mixed berry pie, made with all four, was a custom order for a customer who wanted something a little different. If you've got an idea for a custom bake of your own, fill out the form on our Contact page and let's talk about it.
